But the truly moving part of the exhibition is found right at the beginning - without any tanks at all. Those who allow themselves to be moved will have tears in their eyes during the farewell scene of a young soldier saying goodbye to his mother. They may also draw parallels to the present day, for example to Putin’s devastating war of aggression against Ukraine, and to their own children, who could one day be involved.
And the tanks? Yes, there are tanks too – many of them, and visitors can even climb inside several of them. A museum that is fundamentally different from the comparatively stiff, dusty, and outdated museums in Germany.
